Marlboro County Council will hold a Public Hearing at its regular meeting on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 6 pm. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to receive comments from the public concerning Ordinance # 845 – an Ordinance to amend the Agreement for a Joint County Industrial Business Park (2016 Park) of Dillon and Marlboro Counties so as to enlarge the park.

PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Monday, April 1, 2024, at 12:00 PM, Marlboro County will hold a public hearing at the Marlboro County Economic Development Building, 214 East Market Street, Bennettsville to solicit public input on community needs and priorities for housing, public facilities, and economic development. At this public hearing the county will provide the results of its needs assessment and the activities which might be undertaken to meet identified needs, including the estimated amount proposed to be used for activities that will benefit persons of low and moderate income.
This public hearing and the matters to be discussed are subject to the provisions of Marlboro County’s Citizen Participation Plan, developed in anticipation of participation in the State of South Carolina’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, providing for the participation of the citizens of Marlboro County in the planning and implementation of community and economic development projects which will involve CDBG funds. The Citizen Participation Plan is available for review at the County between 9:00 and 5:00 weekdays. Marlboro County Council’s regular meeting has been postponed for Tuesday, June 16, 2020 and has been rescheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. Marlboro County will hold a Public Hearing at their Regular Meeting in the Council Chambers of the Marlboro County Economic Development Partnership Building located at 214 East Market Street, Bennettsville, SC. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to receive comments from the public concerning Ordinance # 795 – an Ordinance to adopt the annual budget and to make appropriations for Marlboro County for the FY 2020-2021; and Ordinance # 796 – an Ordinance to approve the Capital Improvement Plan for FY 2021-2025.
Due to the COVID-19 threat, the meeting area will be closed to the public but access will be accomplished via live video steam on YouTube.
