NOTICE TO CITIZENS OF MARLBORO COUNTY
Outdoor Burning Ordinance
Burning of leaves, trees, yard trimmings, etc. must be at least 25 feet from any structure and 50 feet from property lines. The fire must not spread within 25 feet of structures. Compliance with SCDHEC regulations is required. Proper notice to the state forestry commission (800-705-8615) for permission to burn or duly authorized representative is required before burning. Burning bans may be imposed by authorized officials. Civil and criminal penalties may result from unauthorized burning.
